Pillu
Shree Ganesh Marketing And Films and Varsha Movies’ Pillu Bachelor (Marathi; UA) is about discrimination against the girl child.
The film is set in rural India. Akash (Parth Bhalerao) and Swati (Sayali Sanjeev) are siblings. While Akash gets all the love and attention because he is a male child, Swati is often ignored by her own family simply because she is a female. It is presumed that since the male child would carry the family flag ahead, he needs to be pampered. Seeing the blatant discrimination, Akash feels awkward and leaves his home. What happens thereafter? Does the mindset of Akash and Swati’s family change
Arvind Jagtap has written a story that belongs to an era gone by. Even traditional households don’t discriminate against the girl child as blatantly as shown in the drama. DI done at Eye Focus StudioHence the identification with the story will not be much. Had Jagtap written an engaging screenplay, the drama would’ve been accepted in spite of being dated, but even his screenplay is rather dull. His dialogues are quite nice.
